Do You Know The Proper Steps To Starting A Small Business?
August 28, 2009 by Sharon Wilson
Filed under Spiritual Business Building Tools
People often come to me for steps to starting a small business. They know they want their own business but are not sure how to go about it.
I teach them that they need to have a plan and concrete foundation to put the elements on their new business into place.
Some of the core foundational elements we focus on are their beliefs and feelings. People don’t realize how much of an impact these two things have on their life.
In a business, you need to really understand the heart of the problem your clients are having and have the solution to fix the problem.
You need to do research on your business idea so that you know have a solid base and know where and how to market your product or service. You can do a lot of research on forums and social networks.
Look in the copy that other companies are using and find words and phrases that you can use in your own copy.
Market yourself both online and offline. Speaking is also a great way to get known.

What Path Are You Following In Starting Your Own Business?

I was at a local football game recently and struck up a conversation with the lady sitting next to me. We started chatting about different things including starting your own business.
This woman had recently lost her job due to company downsizing and was telling me how excited she was about it. She knew that sounded strange but she had not enjoyed her job in quite a while and wanted to do something she was passionate about.
I silently asked Spirit to guide me in my discussion with her and what would be the right thing to say.
I started to ask questions about what excited and intrigued her. As she told me about some of the workshops she had recently went to and how she was changing the way she perceived things, I realized that she was in a personal growth awakening stage.
I could tell she was very guarded because she wasn’t sure what I was thinking at the moment. I asked her some more questions and she hesitantly told me that she was beginning to find that what you feel changes your outlook on things.

We all suffer from time to time at the hand of others. Those we love, those that anger or attack us…
even at the hands of strangers. None of us gets through life unscathed.
In this new video from Chris Cade, he shows you specifically how to explore the challenges and traumas you’ve endured… and transform those stories into empowering vehicles for success.
What Chris articulates so well in this video is that these things that happened to us in the past… It’s just one more story… and it’s the hardest thing for most people to change.

What The Bleep Do We Know About Visualizing Our Desires?

One of the best ideas that I came across for visualizationis to put together a “gift shop” for your visualizations.
Instead of using one board, get a photograph album from the store (the ones with the full page that is sticky on one side and has a clear plastic cover that goes over it) and put in different segments with different pictures. You may have one segment that is business, one for personal goals, family, financial, dreams, whatever you desire.
This expands your ability because you can go through one or all sections at one time. You can keep this organized and be able to take it with you and share it with others as you wish. As you come across new ideas, you can put them right into the book to view daily.
I recently watched a movie that was produced back in 2006 called “Last Holiday” with Queen Latifah in it and she created a Dream Book with pictures of everything she wanted to do in life. In the movie, she was diagnosed with a fatal disease and decided to go through her Dream Book and do everything in it since she was going to die anyway. I won’t spoil the ending for you in case you haven’t seen it but I will tell you that it is a great movie and you can take some pointers from her Dream book in creating your own.

Do You Have Your Career Builders In Place?

I have never liked doing housework. When I was single I lived in an apartment complex and decided to go for a walk one day because I didn’t feel like doing the cleaning, laundry and ironing that was waiting for me back home.
While I was on my walk, I noticed a woman with a number of children. I stopped to talk to her and in our conversation she told me she had 7 children.
Being the oldest of 7 children myself, I loved being around kids and offered to babysit for her from time to time so she could go out with her husband alone. I knew it would be hard for her to find a sitter that could handle that many children at once and since I had grown up watching my siblings I knew it would be a lot of fun for me.
She was so thankful but wanted to do something for me in return. Jokingly I said not unless she enjoyed cleaning, doing laundry and ironing.
To my surprise, she told me that she did enjoy those tasks. She said her favorite time was when her husband took the kids and she could do all those things in peace. It was her way of meditating.
You can imagine how excited I was when we swapped tasks. She was near tears that she could go out with her husband alone, and I was thrilled that I wouldn’t have to do these household tasks that I despised.
If I hadn’t stopped to talk to her, I never would have come across this opportunity.

How Can Abraham Hicks’ “What-if-itis” Help Grow Your Business?
June 25, 2009 by Sharon Wilson

I was recently listening to a CD of Abraham Hicks. In the CD, he talked about both “What-is-itis” and “What-if-itis”.
“What-is-itis” occurs when you are being held back from things in your reality. “What-if-itis” occurs when you’re worried about what hasn’t happened yet, and that worry keeps you from moving ahead.
As I listened to the CD, I thought about one of my clients. Let’s just call her “Sue”.
Sue suffered from “What-if-itis”. She was afraid to call a prospect who was referred to her. All she could think about was what would happen. She couldn’t see anything positive coming out of from the conversation. She didn’t believe that she was prepared for the client, or that she had had everything she needed for the client.
I worked with Sue to get rid of her “What-if-itis” until she could finally get past her fear and call the prospect.
Once she did, not only did she have a great conversation with prospect, she landed a new client that she loves working with. This only happened when she finally got off the starting block by removing her “What-if-itis”.
As the Abraham Hicks explained in his CD, there are a number of different types of “itis”. Each one has the same result — they hold you back from achieving the success you deserve. These include:
- “What-if-itis. Worrying about what hasn’t happened yet.
- “What-is-itis”. Fearing things in your currently reality.
- “Perfectionistic-itis”. Trying to make everything perfect.
- “Analysis-paralisis-itis“. Spending so much time thinking everything through that you don’t take risks. Spending all your time planning ahead for problems that might occur.
So, what “itis” is holding YOU back in business?
