Do You Know What is Unique About Your Own Business?

One of my favorite clients was a Minnesota family that owned a small car repair business.  When I was helping them explore and identify their uniqueness, they told me that they didn’t have anything that made them particularly unique.

Upon digging deeper, they shared that it was very important to them that their customers felt like family.

So they put homemade cookies on the car seat when the car was fixed, so that when you picked up your car, you got warm, fresh, home-baked sweets.

They would also pick up their customers and drive you to where they wanted to go while they fixed their cars. They even gave their customers a loaner car while they were doing repairs. They thought everyone did this, so they didn’t see it as unique!

They were genuinely caring, hospitable people who treated everyone like family.  Thus, who they are and what they have provided ever since they created their business 20 years ago became their Unique Serving Offer (USO).

“Joe’s auto repair shop, where we treat you like family – We pick you up, drop you off and leave fresh baked cookies on your car seat.”

As you read this story, what’s coming up for you?  What do you enjoy receiving?  What do you enjoy giving?  Are words – ideas – maybe even songs – coming to your mind?

What is unique about you?

Spirit has placed unique qualities and unique service and product ideas within you.   Your own business will be absolutely unique because it is a reflection of who you are.

Because of this, your ideal client is someone that you feel a very deep vibrational match to because that client is quite a lot like you.

When you truly tap into your most authentic unique self, you can become a vibrational match for everything you want, for everything that feels good to you.

It is important in your business to identify what makes you truly unique.

USO stands for your Unique Serving Offer.  In marketing terms, you may have heard something about developing your unique serving proposition.  I call it your Unique Serving Offer, or your USO.

It gets to the heart of why someone would want to work with you instead of with someone else.  That’s the key!   Why you instead of someone else?

This is the reason it is so important for you to understand who your ideal clients are and what they are like.  When you have a plan for magnetizing your ideal clients, you know their hot buttons and their gaps because you know them – in you.

Get inside their heads and their hearts.  You are sending a beacon of energy to those people and they are on their way to you.  You want to be tapping them on the shoulder energetically so they are guided to you.

Ask yourself:

  • How am I different?
  • How am I unique?
  • What makes me different and unique?
  • What is my energetic offering?

Getting a real handle on the answers to these questions helps you to be able to articulate your uniqueness to your ideal clients.

The USO is simply a statement of what makes you unique.  How do you know things – how do you discover – how do you like to receive – how do you like to give – what makes you unique?

If you don’t have your own business yet, you can think about the contrasts you’ve experienced in your personal and professional life that you feel passionate about.  Often it is those very things that really make a difference to you that is your unique offering.

If you do have a business, you can ask clients what they think that makes you unique.   You can also ask family and friends.

Listen for themes, especially those that feel so easy and joyful for you; things that you would be happy to do 24 hours a day – those are the very things that make you unique.  This is the vibrational match you feel with them every time.

You can ask Spirit for guidance about what makes you unique. Ask your Inner Coach or your Divine Team.

You can also use spiritual energy management tools to help you surface up, detangle and manage energies so that you can realize and really appreciate your unique qualities.

Link your uniqueness to your Serving Offer.   Make a list of your unique qualities.  Finding ways to articulate these unique qualities will help you to be able to language them in your serving offer in order to magnetize your ideal clients.

When you are aware of the traits, qualities, skills and abilities that you offer, you know – meaning that you fully realize – that you can draw upon them.  You want to be consciously aware of what you have to offer and what resources you have available to you that are unique.

All of this can be used as an anchor point in your website, marketing materials and your conversations.

Knowing this shifts you from a place of telling to a place of being.  It allows you to just be who you are instead of feeling that you have to sell yourself.  It gives you language about who you are and it helps you appreciate who you are.  It raises your energetic vibration!

It gets to the heart of the authentic you and you get really clear about who you are and what you have to offer.  When you know this, you can stand in your place of power and not fumble around trying to find the right words to describe who you are and what you do.

If you’re interested in learning more about this and you want some free insight on how others have done this, listen to the recording of a teleclass I did recently that talks about really moving forward to success in these times.

You can learn about how to access your Inner Coach and how to attain business success no matter what is going on in the world around you.

There is also a bonus at the end of the call of a Round Table panel discussion with some amazing Spiritualpreneurs – Joe Nunziata, Stefanie Hartman and Rich German – you’ll really benefit from hearing what they have to say!  Listen to it now at: www.coachingfromspirit.com/spiritualpreneursblog
