What Value is it to You as an Entrepreneur to Use a Coaching Process in Your Sales?

If I am talking to someone about money and I have presented a specific formula that shows how they can make $100,000 per year, but they can’t see themselves investing $3,000 that even comes with a payment plan, they have a belief or a story they can’t let go of.
They are asking me to help them break through their limitations about money to allow more money in.
I would be doing them a disservice if I fail to try coaching them to a place of choice - to move beyond certain beliefs they have activated.
At least I can help them to see the choices before them.
They can choose to continue with the same story and getting the same results, OR they can choose a different story to live – a different belief to hold.
They have a choice to make a shift, and I can help them see the value of letting go of something that is not serving them to choose something different that may serve them in a whole new way.
This is what you do when you take the coach’s perspective as an entrepreneur – it’s a whole new way of looking at sales!
Instead of feeling afraid to coach people around issues concerning your product or services, begin to see this person how they want to be.
When you follow up with them after presenting your pitch, talk about what resonated with them about your programs or services and help them work through those issues.
If they continue to stay stuck or stay in a place they don’t want to be, it is often because they are arguing for their limitations.
This stuck place is strengthened by habitually thinking the same thoughts, following the same beliefs, taking the same actions. It simply continues to create the same stuck reality.
Coach them to move past their limitations. Model for them right now what their experience with you will be like.
As a coaching entrepreneur, you can detach from the outcome, hold the space for where they want to see themselves, and then activate that person to move past their issues – to activate something else.
When you work with people who argue for their limitations, you are not talking them into anything.
You are coaching them to make a shift.
They were attracted to you and they are interacting with you for a second time—and there is a reason – an energetic reason.
- Really listen
- Hear them
- Be with them
- And keep seeing them in a new way.
See them making their shift. They can choose whether they want to continue holding this belief about their limitations or not.
Remember that this is not just about selling and sales. You have been drawn together for a more sacred experience. You have been drawn together to serve!
While coaching them, you might ask how they are feeling and whether there have been other times in their life when they felt the same way.
Maybe they say that they feel stuck – like they are in a prison of some kind. You might offer another word – like, disempowered? Then ask, “What’s going to change so that you can change that feeling of being disempowered? How will you move past that feeling?”
You are not selling; you are serving and coaching them to a place of choice.
You may say, “It’s OK if you don’t choose this product/program. But what is your plan?”
You are standing in a place of power with this person – seeing them as they want to be – and asking the question that is waiting to be asked.
Maybe they say, “I think I’ll wait for another time.”
And you ask, “Have you done that before – waited for a better time? How has that turned out?”
You have a responsibility to partner with your own Inner Guidance. Ask your Guidance, “How can I help this person to feel empowered – to make a connection to their own guidance – to feel empowered? How can I serve them and make a difference in their life?”
You will coach them to a point of clear choice. You won’t back down. You will lovingly coach them to make their own connection and to an empowered place of making a choice.
Here are some ideas for finding language in this serving opportunity.
- Money is energy – a demonstrative energy, and you’ve got to invest some energy in the game.
- You demonstrate your commitment by being willing to invest in yourself, in your future, into what you want.
- You have a responsibility to partner with your inner guidance.
- This is the opportunity from Spirit for your empowerment.
You are doing them a disservice if you are NOT coaching them to choice. Be detached from the outcome and stand in a place of power of absolute belief in your Unique Serving Offer and in the tools you provide for empowering them.
Manage your energy to deal with your own limiting beliefs.
Stand in this place for them by hearing them, listening to them deeply.
When you see people not willing to spend the money, they have not chosen to allocate the money because they haven’t been able to see the value of allocating it. Help them see the value.
